Thorogood's moc toe work boot design in durable, full-grain leather is both comfortable and able to withstand demanding jobs. These boots are available in Tobacco (804-4208), Trail Crazyhorse (804-4478), and Midnight Black (804-6208) and are made in the USA with a MAXWEAR WEDGE™ TRACTION OUTSOLE that flexes better than other work boot outsoles. The outsole absorbs impacts and protects the feet and ankles while working on difficult surfaces, keeping the wearer stable on loose gravel, wet, and oily surfaces. These boots meet ASTM F3445-21 slip-resistance standards.

The Thorogood American Heritage steel toe boots protect the wearer's feet from on-site impact and compression hazards, while the design keeps the boots light and flexible, making them some of the best safety toe boots for men with dangerous jobs. They meet ASTM F2413-18 safety toe standards and also provide electrical hazard (EH) resistance, meeting ASTM F2413-18 electrical hazard resistance safety standards.

The removable Ultimate Shock Absorption Footbed uses dual-density polyurethane concentrated under the heel and ball strike zone to absorb impacts and wick away moisture, providing exceptional comfort for the wearer.

Thorogood's rich history dates back to 1892, when Albert H. Weinbrenner, at the age of 27, opened a cobblery in Milwaukee with partner Joseph Peffer, serving the "Jobbing" trades. The company has since grown and evolved, becoming a major contributor of boots to the U.S. Army during World War I, introducing the "Job-fitted" concept, and expanding into safety footwear production in the 1930s. The company has maintained an outstanding relationship with its unionized workers through the decades and has been employee-owned since 2000.

In the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, Thorogood (then Weinbrenner) donated hundreds of pairs of durable work boots to Ground Zero to support those working in the rubble.
