DURABLE FULL-GRAIN LEATHER BOOTS in Thorogood's moc toe work boot design are both comfortable and hold up to punishing jobs. Available in Tobacco (804-4208), Trail Crazyhorse (804-4478), and Midnight Black (804-6208), these American-made boots with USA and globally sourced components are crafted by skilled workers at Thorogood's US plants.
The STEEL TOE BOOTS FOR MEN protect your feet from on-site impact and compression hazards while the design keeps them light and flexible, making American Heritage some of the best safety toe boots for men with dangerous jobs. They meet ASTM F2413-18 safety toe standards.
The MAXWEAR WEDGE TRACTION OUTSOLE flexes better than other work boot outsoles, absorbing impacts and protecting your feet and ankles while working on difficult surfaces, keeping you on your feet on loose gravel and wet and oily surfaces. These boots also meet ASTM F3445-21 slip-resistance standards.
The EH RESISTANCE features of these MAXWear Wedge work boots meet ASTM F2413-18 electrical hazard resistance safety standards. The REMOVABLE ULTIMATE SHOCK ABSORPTION FOOTBED uses dual-density polyurethane concentrated under the heel and ball strike zone to absorb impacts and wick away moisture, providing the most comfortable mens work boots.
Thorogood's history dates back to 1892 when Albert H. Weinbrenner, at the age of 27, opened a cobblery in Milwaukee with partner, Joseph Peffer, serving the "Jobbing" trades. The Albert H. Weinbrenner Co. was formed in 1900, and the company's first catalog was printed in 1916. The "Job-fitted" concept was introduced in 1917, and Weinbrenner became a major contributor of boots to the U.S. Army in WWI.
In 1938, the company took its first steps into safety footwear production. During WWII, the company converted to all-military footwear, producing combat and dress styles. Military footwear also became popular with civilians.
In 1964, the company introduced the Official Boy Scout Boot: The Hike n' Camp, with a wedge sole and moccasin-style stitching. It became the company's best-selling boot of all time and is still available in its original design today.
In 1988, the company was purchased by a local group, including six employees, and the "ThoroGard" division was created, featuring high-tech occupational safety footwear. In 2000, Weinbrenner employees took ownership of the company through an ESOP.
After the September 11 terror attacks in 2001, Weinbrenner donated 300 pairs of durable work boots to Ground Zero within three days, followed by another 200 pairs. In 2014, the 1892 Heritage line of handcrafted, lifestyle boots was introduced, built on the iconic No. 60 last.
Weinbrenner celebrated its 125th Anniversary in 2017, demonstrating a renewed commitment to upgrading and improving domestic facilities, machines, equipment, manufacturing methods, and computer systems/programs. In 2022, the company celebrated 130 years with the opening of a new factory in Merrill, WI and the launch of the first western wear product, Thorogood's Square Toe Wellingtons. Sales continue to increase as Thorogood gains popularity and expands with many new styles on the horizon.
