Thorogood's durable full-grain leather boots, designed in the moc toe work boot style, are both comfortable and able to withstand demanding jobs. These boots are available in three colors: Tobacco (804-4208), Trail Crazyhorse (804-4478), and Midnight Black (804-6208). Crafted in the USA with a combination of American-made and globally sourced components, these boots are the result of skilled craftsmanship by the workers at Thorogood's US plants.
The MAXWEAR WEDGE™ TRACTION OUTSOLE on these work boots offers superior flexibility compared to other work boot outsoles. It absorbs impacts and protects the wearer's feet and ankles while working on challenging surfaces, keeping them stable on loose gravel, wet, and oily surfaces. These boots meet the ASTM F3445-21 slip-resistance standards.
Thorogood's steel toe boots for men are designed to protect the wearer's feet from on-site impact and compression hazards, while maintaining a lightweight and flexible design. These boots meet the ASTM F2413-18 safety toe standards, ensuring they offer the best protection for workers with dangerous jobs.
The boots also feature EH (Electrical Hazard) resistance, meeting the ASTM F2413-18 electrical hazard resistance safety standards. The removable ultimate shock absorption footbed, with dual-density polyurethane concentrated under the heel and ball strike zone, absorbs impacts and wicks away moisture, providing the utmost comfort for the wearer.
The Thorogood brand has a rich history dating back to 1892, when Albert H. Weinbrenner, at the age of 27, opened a cobblery in Milwaukee with his partner, Joseph Peffer, serving the "Jobbing" trades. Over the decades, the company has evolved, introducing innovations such as the "Job-fitted" concept, producing boots for the U.S. Army during World War I, and creating the iconic Hike n' Camp boot, which became the company's best-selling boot of all time.
In the late 1980s, the company was purchased by a local group, including six employees, and the "ThoroGard" division was created, featuring high-tech occupational safety footwear. In 2000, Thorogood's employees took ownership of the company through an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan), and the company has continued to grow and innovate, celebrating its 130th anniversary in 2022 with the opening of a new factory in Merrill, Wisconsin, and the launch of its first western wear product, the Thorogood Square Toe Wellingtons.
